THINK

If we still believe that we live in a democratic environment, we are nothing but fooling ourselves. India is democratic theoretically speaking, but if we go to the practical situations...we can say even a authoritarian government would be more democratic.

We were happy that we had got freedom from the British and the colonial rule, and they attributed all the success to a single man, we see his smiling face daily in the currency notes. I still cant understand why was his face in the currency notes....He was the man who lead a very simple life and was very calculative in his spendings, was always in a two piece.

We 'think' that we are developing, 'a world leader in IT', 'a country which has the best railway network in the world', 'best connected postal system','fastest developing industrial sector in the world'.....What does this has to do with farming and agriculture where 70% of Indian workforce is concentrated. We are talking only about the small part of the 30% that is developing only because of the cheap labor and low price.

The same thing also applies for the word DEMOCRACY..we 'think' that we are democratic because we select our representatives and we send them to the parliament. There is lot other than that about democracy. According to me when a common man can question a head of state then there comes a true democracy. I will give you small instance , Dr. Manmohan Singh( a man who i truly admire for his economic policies) was in Chennai to open the new State Assembly. He was in Chennai only for few hours for the meeting and then left to the capital. I cant recollect even 4-5 instances where the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh was in Chennai to meet the people or address the people who elected him and his party to power. So rude is int, we have felt so bad and left out. Then what does democracy mean here, when the head of state never comes to listen or see the people who voted him to take care of them.

Is there any legislation that is being brought as law that is being given to the people for their opinion. No, not at all. Then where does the word democracy comes from. When we are being denied of our fundamental right then why do you call the country the Democratic country.

In Maharashtra the government is about to bring a law that does not allow the non Marathi speaking people to drive taxi in the city. And they managed to label them as the migrant workers. I wonder from where did the word migrant come from, how people of the same land can be called migrant. Is this not violation of the fundamental right of the people.

The mineral rich region of the country is the place where all tribal people live and earn their livelihood. The government for the only reason that it had signed a MoU with the some corporate companies for earning billions of dollars for the people involved in it(i mean not the government), has decide to remove those people from the region. How did the government go about this? They declared these innocent uneducated and poor people as the naxalites. Then all the military and the police were in full force to destroy them. About 600 villages have been cleaned, during this process most of them have been killed.

How sad! when a government has decided to kill its own people for the sake of money.

What is the meaning of Freedom?
Is this the land that own the mighty British without violence?
What is the meaning of fundamental right?
What is the meaning of "for the people"
What is the meaning of DEMOCRACY
